SECRETARY’S DAY
Secretary's Day…when is that?
On recent Monday, my Lady boss asked me when is actually the Secretary' Day because she knew I know a lots ofweird thing. Haha! So I answered her like this;
'Aik bos, macam ko tau-tau saja sa mau suggest bawa kami pigi makan. Well, this Saturday baitu 2nd April 2011'
She replied. 'Elehhhh, ko bukan secretary aku, ko secretary tu nahhhh boss mu 'she was smiling with her finger pointing to my boss office, the Engineering Head.
Don't know kenapa, I was so bombastic and bravely said like this to her…the Big boss in da office;
'Samaaaaa juga tu bos. Sa tukang taip surat, minit, angkat telephone, tukang prepare makan minum, wakil kana tiaw-tiaw ganti boss, segala-gala nya lah bah'
So, when actually is the Secretary's Day…well, is obviously VERY DAY is Secretary Day!
Even at home the hubby will said this 'honey, keep all these documents for our future reference' (=_=) Betul kah tidak?
Hehehe…
I don't ask much what my boss will give me in conjunction of Secretary's Day because all my three bosses (yaaa! I'm reporting to 3 bosses!) gave me the best rating for my performance in 2010 thus I got RM**** x 3 x1 = hahaha!
…there's a rumor that I'm going to move a 'better position' this month so if it true…MAKASIH BOS!
By the way, for your info about the day (especially for those gorgeous secretaries outside there)
Administrative Professional's Week is celebrated:: April 24-30, 2011, April 22-28, 2012
National Professional Secretaries Week and National Secretary's Day was created in 1952 through the work of Harry F. Klemfuss of Young and Rubicam. Klemfuss recognized the importance and value of the position to a company or business. His goal was to encourage more women to become secretaries. Using his skill and experience in public relations, Klemfuss, promoted the values and importance of the job of secretaries. In doing so, he also created the holiday in recognition of the importance of secretaries.
Today, the title is changing and evolving. But, the recognition is equally important. There are two new terms in use today. They are "Administrative Professionals" and "Executive Admins". The two names sometimes mean different roles and responsibilities to different companies. Both are broader terms, that encompass more positions than the original "Secretary" role.
The name change recognizes and acknowledges that the role has changed significantly since 1952, and for the better at that. And in Harry Klemfuss' day, these postions were the realm of women. Today, you find some males in these positions.
The most common ways of recognizing your Administrative Professional(s) today are:
